Humble Beginnings started this simple, natural concept. Welcome to my story that’s turned into a passion, Lisa’s vision. It was not always about all of this. Natural Candles started this and quickly realized that ethics had a part to play. I was enlightened very quickly that there are so many secrets in the home and body industry. I also went down a rabbit warren about disruptors and parabens, synthetics, and to say I was shocked is pretty close. I will summarize some of this as my research often takes a long time.
I do not mind sharing a few glimpses of my findings. Not all things that thicken your products are good for your skin. Not all colors are ethical; no one could guarantee no child labor was involved, and I struggled with this. Many said this and that. I have allergies and simple needs. I started making items for myself and found it great. My skin was better, and I liked them better. I had used supermarket bits all my life. It was a revelation to me. I am now sharing my revolution. I like not getting itchy scalps using my hair products. I like using oil on my skin to moisturize; I like hair products that thicken my hair. I like oils that don’t feel oily. I love nice smells that are not synthetic, and I have nothing to worry about. I have a different spin on this industry to many, and that’s ok, because I keep it real.
Eco stands for eco-products that bring eco principles of environment, quality products, and ethical practices. I believe in ingredients that are on products. I believe natural is best whenever you can; that should be first. I also think they are better. When your body does not need to fight, what you are using it for is a win-win situation. You will learn I am opinionated, ddefinite kind, and well-meaning. You will learn I keep a clean area I work in and test my products; I also have product labels that tell you what is in them. Not only does New Zealand law say you have to, but I want to, and I don’t want to hide what I use.
I do research on everything I make, and I prefer tried and proven. Also, I have many colleagues that I can talk to and bounce ideas off of. It’s a treasure trove of data now, thankfully, if you know where to look. Also, I am a research buff, so I am in my element. I am not sure I have a favorite product; I like them all. I have tried them all except if I use something with nut oil (I am allergic big time). I am on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, but not that seriously on TikTok. I have a Pinterest but not heaps there. I want my website to be my best resource. Thank you for letting me share.

No I do not, please make all orders at Thames Market or online. I will accept text but this would need to be a prepayment and I would need an email to [email protected].
For the smallest items the cheapest service we can obtain is a bag rate, this is 8.20. NZ post offers this lowest price. Items will still be packaged safely as we do not want any damage. We use environmentally safe packaging.
For orders over $75.00 the delivery is free.
Yes if I am at Thames Market you can pick it up from me there, I take orders there for customers to pick up regularly. You need to pre-order when you do it this way. I deliver Free to Thames, Paeroa, Turua and Ngatea for Free.
We use NZ couriers and NZ post only for courier services, times depend on their
Services. We give an estimate of time 2-4 days this is North Island. For the South Island we are unsure, they estimate up to 10 days. We prefer to choose which courier offers you the best deal as prices vary.
You must note if you are rural, selection accuracy is important.
You can combine your orders to make one courier fee, we know courier costs should be kept to a minimal.
New Zealand Orders if $75.00 and over will be FREE freight.
We can deliver to New Zealand, Australia, America and England, Japan, and Asia. We will extend this later when the need arises. The courier service will go by weight and tell you the price as you go.
All parcels are tracked, couriers offer insurance.
If a product arrives damaged, take a picture/photo and send it to us time stamped to prove what has happened as we will have to make a claim. We will send out a new item once we verify information. If not in stock we will refund the full amount.
This is possible if the item is not used, not opened, no packaging has been tampered with. It is highly important for us to keep products clean and unused if you are claiming a refund.
